Fitting online counselling around work and other commitments can be incredibly difficult; counselling with Strive removes the journey to a therapy room, which can make regular support possible when work, caring responsibilities, health or transport limit your time. Strive offers sessions across the UK. You choose an appropriate private place to join, while we consider your availability and needs when matching you with a counsellor.
Fitting online counselling around work:
When the journey is the obstacle
A counselling appointment can take much more than 50 minutes once travel, parking and waiting are added. If you live in a rural area, do not drive or find travel tiring, that extra time can be enough to stop you starting. Meeting online means the session can begin from a quiet place you have chosen, with no need to live near Strive or the counsellor you are matched with.
Finding time among other responsibilities
Perhaps your working hours vary, you need to collect a child from school or you are a carer who cannot easily leave home. At assessment, tell us which times might be possible. We look at availability as part of the match and aim for a dependable weekly appointment. We cannot promise any particular time or counsellor, but we can take the practical realities seriously from the outset.
A private space still matters

Online does not mean joining from anywhere. You need a place where you will not be overheard or interrupted and where you can pay attention to yourself for the session. A quiet room, private office or another suitable space may work. A café, moving vehicle or busy shared area usually will not. If privacy is hard to arrange, discuss that during assessment rather than feeling you have to solve it alone.
What if my circumstances change and I can no longer fit online counselling around work?
If you travel within the UK or your available space changes, talk with your counsellor about the location and your privacy before the session. You can manage bookings online. Under Strive’s current terms, giving more than 48 hours’ notice allows you to cancel or reschedule without a session charge. The aim is to offer practical flexibility around a consistent counselling relationship.
Cost is part of access too
Strive Core sessions cost £25 and Pro sessions £50 for 50 minutes. The 30-minute assessment costs £25 and is credited back through a free twelfth session if you continue. There is no subscription or obligation to carry on after the assessment.
Start with what would work for you
At assessment you can talk about the time, privacy, technology and kind of support you would need. We will consider whether online counselling with Strive fits and what the next step could be.
